Ahmad Ali Abdullahi
Eng. Ahmad Ali Abdullahi was born on August 27, 1953, in Gerash, Iran. He completed his elementary education in Gerash, attended middle school in Lar, and then returned to Gerash for his high school studies. He graduated with a diploma from Khajeh Nasir High School in Jahrom in 1972. Afterward, he served in the military for two years in Zahedan.
Upon completing his military service, he decided in 1975 to continue his education in the United States. Given his passion for construction and development, he pursued a degree in Civil Engineering. Eventually, in 1980, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), earning the distinction of being the first academically trained civil engineer from Gerash.
After graduating, during the height of the Iran-Iraq War, he returned to Iran and settled in Shiraz in 1983. He worked for some time as a construction supervisor at Jahat Yab Company and then spent a year at the Housing Foundation of Shiraz. In 1984, he decided to return to his hometown, Gerash. Following his return, he established GerashRoof Engineering and Construction Company in 1985.
Since the establishment of the Fars Engineering Organization in 1995, he has been a member of the organization. He also served for a time on the Supervisory Committee of the Lar Engineering Organization.
Among his professional achievements as the founder of GerashRoof Engineering and Construction Company, he was recognized as the Top Contractor of Fars Province in 2008, receiving an honorary certificate in the presence of the governor of Shiraz. In 2013, he was also named a Distinguished Engineer. From 2014 to 2018, he served for four years as an inspector at the Gerash Engineering Organization.
Due to the lack of civil engineers in Gerash at the time of his return, he single-handedly handled all aspects of construction projects, including design, drafting, structural calculations, surveying, and execution. He played a crucial role in standardizing engineering practices in Gerash and transforming the urban landscape through unique architectural facades.
