Né: New

A thoughtful response to contemporary architectural trends in Iran...

The Né Facade project represents a thoughtful response to contemporary architectural trends in Iran. The name “” carries special significance, meaning “new” in the local Gerashi dialect, reflecting the project’s innovative yet culturally rooted approach.

What we do

Project Context

Over the past decade, classical European and Roman-style facades have gained widespread popularity across Iranian cities, primarily due to their geometric majesty and elaborate stone ornamentation. While visually impressive, these imported design elements lack connection to Iran’s rich architectural heritage, gradually transforming urban identities into something rootless and inauthentic.

What we do

Design Philosophy

Rather than simply rejecting these contemporary preferences, our approach began with a careful analysis of what attracts clients to European-style facades. Through creative innovation, we sought to evoke similar aesthetic appeal while drawing from authentic Iranian architectural traditions. The project aims to preserve the identity and authenticity of regional art and architectural heritage while meeting modern expectations.

Design Approach

A Bridge between traditional and contemporary design sensibilities.

Our methodology centered on reimagining rather than importing architectural expressions. By studying traditional regional design principles alongside contemporary preferences, we developed innovative solutions that:

  1. Maintain the desired sense of solidity and presence
  2. Incorporate ornamental elements that resonate with modern tastes
  3. Preserve connections to authentic Iranian architectural identity
  4. Create visual distinction without cultural disconnection

The resulting façade successfully bridges traditional and contemporary design sensibilities, demonstrating how Iranian building traditions can be revitalized to meet modern aesthetic preferences while maintaining cultural authenticity.
